Pack circles, rectangles, ellipses and polygons into the smallest container, check whether they fit, or find out how many fit.

Each opens a short form with only the settings that job needs. You can show every option at any time.
Shape Packing Optimizer arranges a set of pieces inside a container without overlaps. It can:
Every result comes with a dimensioned drawing and the centre and rotation of each piece, which you can copy or export as CSV for CAD, laser cutting or CNC nesting.
Pieces: circles, squares, rectangles, ellipses, and equilateral triangles, pentagons, hexagons and octagons, in any mix of sizes. Pieces can turn to any angle or keep their orientation, with a gap between pieces and a margin to the edge.
Containers: rectangle, square, circle, ellipse, triangle, pentagon, hexagon or octagon, or all of them at once, ranked by area, coverage, empty space, perimeter or size.
Packing mixed shapes has no exact formula, so the tool runs a numerical search: thousands of attempts that push the pieces together and shrink the container, plus regular row and lattice layouts. Every layout shown is checked: no two pieces overlap and every piece lies inside the container.
It is free, needs no account, and runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is uploaded.
Every option. Finds the smallest container, checks a size, or fits as many as possible.
Packing mixed sizes has no exact formula, so this is a numerical search. Every result is checked: no two pieces overlap and every piece sits fully inside the container. Polygons are regular (all sides equal). Rotation is measured anticlockwise from the starting position: polygons on a flat side, rectangles and ellipses with their width along X. Coordinates are the middle of each piece.
